Gender Conversion Therapy
We often hear of ‘conversion therapy’ in the context of refusing to understand the reality of the client and enforcing our view on what they should or shouldn’t be. This is the premise of the affirmative approach, it is the client that knows better.
However, the NHS in its review of its gender identity services has changed from its affirmative approach, stating that ‘social transition’ – which includes changing a patient’s name, pronouns or the way that they dress – should no longer be regarded as a ‘neutral act’. This includes clinical decisions, like prescribing puberty blockers, that may have life-long consequences.
To address this recent social phenomenon in understanding sex and gender, we are grateful to be joined by Dr André Van Mol.

We live in an era where everything changes so fast, not only technology but more importantly ethics, social morals, what’s right & what’s wrong, what we accept, tolerate & what we should stick to.
However, it always seemed that exposing and discussing issues through direct lectures & enforced laws might be repulsive to some people from both complying and none sides, hence doing it through literature, arts & media seem to be more useful.
In my novel “Love has others stories” I approach the LGBTQ issues through a love story between two men, the Surrogacy when a sister decides to carry her sister’s baby, the pressure on women to accept lifestyle conditions against her will & a love story between a priest & his ex-fiancée of before his Vow of Chastity.
