Journey in Brotherhood
“You should have reached out to me, brother. I would have come and we could’ve talked.”
Those were the words of a long time friend in one of our Muslim men’s circle support groups. I replied, “You should have too, bro. I had no idea you were thinking of suicide back then.”
We were close friends. We’d meet regularly over coffee or tea, or have dinners with other brothers. We were active in the same community organization.
But we hid parts of ourselves that were struggling.
It took 15 years before we shared our deeper battles with one another.
In today’s world, Muslim men – in particular husbands and fathers face a unique set of challenges.
Between balancing personal & family responsibilities, career demands, it can feel like the weight of the world is on your shoulders. Sometimes, that weight gets heavy, and the journey feels lonely.
But it doesn’t have to be that way.

This is more than just a support group. Journey in Brotherhood is a safe, judgment-free space where Muslim men come together to share, reflect, and support each other. It is a place where we can set aside our daily “masks,” drop the expectations, and connect on a level that is deeply personal and meaningful.
Here, we’re building a network of heart-centred leaders and men who want to elevate their roles as husbands, fathers, and leaders in their communities.
Together, we explore tools and strategies for personal growth, all within the framework of our faith.

As someone who has faced the painful journey of divorce, I know all too well the weight of isolation. In the aftermath, I found myself caught in a cycle of depression, lead to lost of income and had to uprooted myself from a place that I called home for most of my life. I felt I had to project strength to the world around me, to appear as though I had all the answers, even when I was struggling deeply inside.
I’ve witnessed firsthand the struggles men endure in silence. I saw it in my own father, who faced his battles quietly, believing it was his duty to bear the weight alone. I lost friends to suicide, men who couldn’t find a way out of their loneliness and pain. And over time, I became a listening ear for other men who were quietly navigating their own life challenges, often feeling they had no one to turn to.
This journey led me to a deeper understanding of the urgent need for safe spaces where men, particularly Muslim men, can connect, express, and heal.
